Community Floral Craft Workshops

SPECIALISED FLORALS FOR YOUTH This event involved delivering a structured floral craft workshop to disengaged youth aged 12–18 years, in partnership with Anglicare Victoria. The program ran on a weekday for approximately two hours and the fee included all materials: fresh flowers, garden foliage, floral boxes, ribbons, paper, wet foam, and guidance from an experienced facilitator. Each participant made a fresh floral posy box. It was inspiring to see the young participants engage in an activity where they felt safe, supported, and able to experience mindfulness through creativity. The core message—enhancing lives through floral therapy—truly came to life. In respect of privacy, no facial images have been shared.

PILOTED WORKSHOPS

Here are are some images that show the fundaments of the floral craft workshops, piloted in youth and aged care services in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne, ran separately for both young and older people in the community. The workshops involved crafting floral arrangements in wet floral foam with a simple plastic base, using fresh low cost flora. From this experience I was able to gage what is expected from participants and the connection that is involved when crafting their individual floral designs, and how my guided instructions assisted with optional placement and design elements.
